Privacy Policy

Until that date, our previous privacy policy applies.

This policy explains what information Apalis, LLC and its affiliate Apalis Commodities, LLC (together, “Apalis”, “we” or “us”) collect through the website at apalis.com (the “website”), how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers the website only. It does not cover the Apalis Grower mobile app, or accounts and services we provide to customers.

Information you give us

When you send us a message through the contact form, we collect what you enter:

your first and last name
your email address
your general location (for example, city and state), so we can connect you with a Crop Position Manager in your area
the subject and content of your message

If you call or email us directly, we receive the information you choose to share, such as your phone number or email address.

Information collected automatically

How you found us. When you arrive on the website, your browser keeps a note of the first page you visited, the website that referred you (if any), and any campaign tags in the link you followed (for example, utm_source). This note stays in your browser and is sent to us only if you submit the contact form, together with your message.
Approximate location. When you submit the contact form, we record the approximate city, region and country associated with your IP address. We do not store the IP address itself.
Link clicks. When you tap one of our phone numbers or an app store link, we record which link it was, the page it was on, the time, and the approximate region and country associated with your IP address. This record does not identify you.
Website analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how the website is used in aggregate: page views, referring websites, browser and device type, country and page load performance. It does not use cookies and does not track you across other websites.
Advertising. Our pages load the Google Ads tag from Google LLC. When you visit, Google receives information about the visit, such as the page, the referring website, your IP address, browser and device details, and identifiers stored in cookies. Google uses this to help us measure how well our ads work, for example whether someone who clicked an Apalis ad went on to visit or contact us, and it may use it to show Apalis ads to people who have visited the website.
Security. The contact form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks signals from your browser and device to tell people from automated programs. Our hosting provider processes your IP address and basic request information to deliver the website and protect it from abuse, and keeps short-lived technical logs.

Cookies and browser storage

Our own code does not set cookies. It stores two small items in your browser:

the time the introductory animation was last shown, so it appears at most once an hour (kept until you clear your browser data)
the “how you found us” note described above (cleared when you close the browser tab)

Cloudflare Turnstile may store information in your browser as needed to perform its security check. It is not used for advertising.

The Google Ads tag described above sets advertising cookies, and Google may also read cookies it has already set on your browser, so that visits and ad clicks can be connected. These cookies are used for advertising measurement and may be used to show you Apalis ads on other websites.

We do not use tools that record your session.

If you contact us, we may follow up with information about our services. You can ask us to stop at any time.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information for money. Information you enter in the contact form is never given to advertisers. We share information only:

with Google, through the Google Ads tag described above. Google collects this information directly from your browser and uses it under its own privacy policy, including for advertising. Some state privacy laws may treat this as “sharing” personal information or “targeted advertising”; see Your choices below.
with service providers that operate the website for us, under agreements that limit how they may use it: Cloudflare, Inc. (website hosting, data storage, analytics and security) and Twilio SendGrid (delivering contact form messages to our staff)
within Apalis, including between Apalis, LLC and Apalis Commodities, LLC, so the right person can respond to you
when required by law, including to regulators such as the National Futures Association and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, or in response to valid legal process
to protect rights and safety, where we believe in good faith that disclosure is needed to prevent fraud or harm or to defend legal claims
in a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case the information remains subject to this policy

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Google can collect information about your activity on the website through the Google Ads tag, and may combine it with information about your activity on other websites. The website does not currently respond to Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals. You can limit this tracking using the choices described below.

How long we keep information

Apalis Commodities, LLC is a registered introducing broker and is required to keep certain records, including communications with prospective customers. We therefore keep contact form submissions for as long as those record-keeping obligations require, which may be indefinitely. Link click records do not identify individuals and are kept for as long as they are useful for understanding how the website is used. Cloudflare keeps analytics data and technical logs for limited periods under its own policies. Google keeps the information it collects through the Google Ads tag under its own policies.

Your choices

You can ask us to access, correct or delete personal information you have given us by emailing info@apalis.com from the email address you used. We will respond within a reasonable time. We may need to keep some information where the law or our regulatory record-keeping obligations require it, and if so we will tell you.

You can also clear the items stored in your browser at any time through your browser settings.

To limit advertising tracking, you can block or delete cookies in your browser, turn off personalized ads in your Google account settings, or opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies at optout.aboutads.info. To ask us to stop sharing your information for targeted advertising, email info@apalis.com. You can read how Google uses information from websites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Security

The website is served only over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and access to submitted information is limited to the people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

The website is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Where information is processed

We are based in the United States. Our service providers may process information in the United States and in other countries where they operate.

Other websites

The website links to sites we do not control, such as the Apple App Store and Google Play. Their own privacy policies apply when you visit them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated policy on this page with a new effective date, and the changes take effect on that date. Please review this page periodically.
